Irish Ferries is challenging travellers to find a better priced journey to Ireland this autumn as it announces the return of its £59 one-way fare for car and driver across the Irish Sea. Irish Ferries fares are not subject to hidden extras as all taxes and fuel charges are included, and (again to stress the comparison with air travel) passengers can take as much luggage as they wish.

The £59 lead-in fare is available when booking at least 28 days before travel between September 26 and December 20 2007. Prices in June and September start from £69 and in July and August from £89.

Irish Ferries operates two routes from the UK to Ireland; Holyhead to Dublin and Pembroke to Rosslare.
